Home 4 Help

At Home 4 Help, our mission is to provide both physiological and emotional assistance to those affected by homelessness. We aim to improve the livelihood of these victims through a four-step approach: Awareness, Development, Implementation, and Achievement. While satisfaction of the world’s conditions lies solely upon the individual and their subjective idea of what happiness means, there are ways we can elevate the quality of life for others and achieve a state of peace that appeals to the majority of the population – regardless of status or background. I believe one way we can achieve this state of being is through working to alleviate the universal problem of homelessness. Having a shelter/home is one of the most basic physiological needs for human survival, without this (and food, of course), humans are unable to achieve their own personal goals for self-development and happiness – both of which should be accessible to all human beings. I believe my organization can aid those in ...

World We Dare to Imagine: Part 1

While satisfaction of the world’s conditions lies solely upon the individual and their subjective idea of what happiness means, there are ways we can elevate the quality of life for others and achieve a state of peace that appeals to the majority of the population – regardless of status or background. I believe one way we can achieve this state of being is through working to alleviate the universal problem of homelessness. Having a shelter/home is one of the most basic physiological needs for human survival, without this (and food, of course), humans are unable to achieve their own personal goals for self-development and happiness.             I think homeless shelters should be restructured and work towards providing victims of homelessness with the right tools necessary to get back on their feet. Victims of homelessness should walk into these shelters with the intention of turning their...

Sound Marketing: Random Post

Like sound, marketing can be heard anywhere – from the car salesman across the street to the cereal you eat. Everyday we are unconscious of the marketing campaigns employed by producers that are specifically catered to us – a result of the research and analyses conducted prior to the implementation of said campaigns. The merging of sound and marketing have essentially produced one of the most effective methods in enticing audiences into purchasing a product and ultimately contributing to the overall ideology of consumerism. Sound marketing, or audio branding (as it has more recently come to be known), is a subject that hasn’t been analyzed to the extent that visual marketing has, but holds just as much significance and power in terms of efficacy. The range of sound marketing holds no limits, and can be found in almost any industry and setting – from restaurants to stores to commercials to movie trailers.       ...

Born on Third Base

I found Born on Third Base to be an interesting read in that Collins discusses living life from the perspective of a “One Percenter.” I found it humbling and refreshing that although Collins grew up living a life more privileged than most, he aimed to look at things from the perspectives of those who are not part of the one percent. By giving away so much of his wealth in his youth, Collins proves himself to be a man truly determined to gain a deeper understanding of how the majority of the world lives. Many state a desire to learn how those who are less fortunate live, however, they don’t take action on their words. I found it admirable how Collins’ interest accompanied action.            I like how Collins mentioned “the color of wealth” in the book as well and how institutional racism benefited him in a system of privilege. The book emphasizes how wealth destroys society in that it divides classes and their und...

Random Post: Beautiful British Columbia

Image
Vancouver, BC is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve visited and fortunately, had the pleasure of living in. I am continually awestruck by the beauty of the lakes, mountains, and the city itself. One of my favorite memories of Vancouver was during the summer when my family and I decided to explore the city and watch the fireworks for Canada Day. We started the day by grabbing a late lunch at one of my favorite poutine spots downtown – for those who do not know, poutine is a Canadian specialty that consists of french fries and various toppings of your choice (i.e. gravy, cheese, vegetables, meat, etc.). After a delicious lunch, we headed down towards the beach where red and white colors were displayed with pride from flags to beach balls to t-shirts. I inhaled the brisk, clean air as the light warmth of the sun wrapped around me like a blanket. After sharing countless laughs and stories, we watched the sun set on the glisten...

Beringer says, “Brunch is cheerful, sociable and inciting. It is talk-compelling. It puts you in a good temper, it makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings, it sweeps away the worries an...
